VevoCart Multi Store Installation Guide


This document explains how to setup additional store in VevoCart Multi-Store version on Windows Server 2000/2003/2008, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

When you finish the installation, you should refer to “Quick Start Guide” for setting up the necessary configuration.

VevoCart Multi-Store version includes all VevoCart Deluxe features. This version allows merchant to operate multiple storefronts with different domain names sharing a single database and central payment processing.


Each storefront can have its own domain, logo and theme representing unique business identity. All storefronts share settings, configurations, content, and customers.


The Multi-Store version makes it manageable and feasible to represent your products to multiple customer groups.


Toppage.png Setup Application for Additional Store

You can add additional store after setup application and install VevoCart (base storefront) completely.

*** For setup VevoCart (base storefront), please see “VevoCart_Installation_Guide” for more information.


Here is the instruction to set asp.net application for additional store.

Toppage.png Set Up in IIS 5 and IIS 6 Local Machine

For merchant need to use .NET 4, please make sure you install .NET 4 Framework and allow ISAPI restriction (OS 32 bit or 64bit).

Next, please follow the steps below:

1) Open IIS application (Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager).
2) On the left-hand-side panel in IIS, expand the tree “Web Sites → Default Web Site”.
3) Right click on “Default Web Site”, select “Add Application…”

4) Enter your application name (e.g. storeB) in Alias text box and browse to VevoCart folder in “Physical Path” text box. The path in Directory box is the same VevoCart (base storefront) WebApp folder.

5) You can select the application pool by click “Select…” near the application pool text box.
6) Enter application name, physical path.
7) Click “OK” to finish.

***Note: each application must browse to the same directory path which you set to your base application. All applications will run in the same source code and database.

Toppage.png Setup in IIS 7 Local Machine

If you would like to run the software in your local machine, please follow the steps below:

1) Open IIS application (Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Internet Information Servers.
2) On the left-hand-side panel in IIS, expand the tree “Web Sites → Default Web Site”.
3) Right click on “Default Web Site”, select “New → Virtual Directory…”

4) Enter your application name (e.g. storeB) in Alias text box and browse to VevoCart folder in Directory text box.

5) The path in Directory box is the same VevoCart (base storefront) WebApp folder.

6) Choose “Run Script” permission

7) Continue with the instruction on screen until finish. You will see storeB.

After setup additional store as asp.net application completely, you can browser to your admin website menu “Store”.

In this menu allows you to add, view or edit store information and store configuration.

After set a new store as asp.net application, you can add new store by click “Add New Store” button. The text box will be displayed at the end of the table. You can enter store name and store URL path and click “Add” button at the right-hand-side of the row.


*** You can add new store URL which is placed Domain Key in web.config only. Please see section 5 for more information.

After add new store completely, you can set store configuration by click “Set Store Configuration” button. The “Set Store Configuration” button will link to the Store Configuration page.

Toppage.png Requesting a Domain Key

Once you run VevoCart in a non-local (live) environment, you will need to obtain a Domain Key, which is specific to your domain name. If you try to access a non-local website, the following screen may show up:

First, please visit VevoCart website, http://www.vevocart.com. You may either:

  • Purchase VevoCart software, or
  • Download a free version.
  • Obtain Domain Key


*** If you want to upgrade from earlier version of VevoCart Multistore to Version 4.4.0, you need a new domain key. Please contact sales@vevocart.com for a new domain key.

Toppage.png Place a domain key in Web.config

*** You must place the domain key in both VevoCart and VevoPay application. The domain key is the same for both applications.


You will need to edit your Web.config to enter your domain key. Locate the tag with a key called “DomainRegistrationKey” inside the <appSettings> section.

Enter the Domain Key inside the value quotation marks and use “|” for separate each store’s domain key, for example:

After enter the Domain Key in VevoCart, you must enter Storefront Key in “DomainStorefrontKey” of VevoPay’s web.config with same value.

*** DomainRegistrationKey of VevoPay is used for live environment activation. But DomainStorefrontKey of VevoPay is used for payment permission.
